The opening title track is a mid tempo rock-tinged number with a reedy vocal and some rock guitar licks, not unlike the kind of thing bands like David And The Giants gave us 20 years ago. Song two, "Mother Of Mary" is a similar retro arrangement, this time with keys to the fore, and a lyric about.er.Mary. "Seaside Saint" at least goes into some polite rock, though its rhythms are utterly predictable while its lyrics are unintelligible. It's good to see the Roman Catholic church moving into the pop rock arena, but it will need more innovative recordings than this tepid set to make the Nashville fatcats take notice.
